Justin Bowick isn’t lacking confidence on or off the football field. The Oklahoma State receiver says he’s the best pool player on the team—even if he hasn’t seen much of the competition yet. After learning from his dad and now “spanking” him, Bowick is ready to defend his crown. 🎱🤠
We already know Justin Bowick believes he can make some noise at wide receiver for Oklahoma State this season. Apparently, his confidence isn't limited to the football field.
Put a pool cue in his hands and Bowick will apparently take on anybody in the building.
During a recent Q&A with Oklahoma State Athletics, Bowick was asked about something he considers himself particularly good at away from football.
His answer? Pool. And he didn't exactly lack confidence.
“I have a pool table at home and I spank on my dad. He's the one who taught me, but now I get the best of him. I'm the best on the team here too. I haven't seen too many play pool, but I have the confidence like that.”
😂😂😂 I respect it.
Has Bowick conducted an extensive Oklahoma State football pool tournament to determine the best player on the roster? Nope.
Does he need to? Apparently not.
Sorry, Dad
First of all, Bowick's dad deserves some recognition here. Imagine teaching your son how to play pool.
You show him the angles. Teach him how to control the cue ball. Help him develop his game.
Years later? Your son goes on Oklahoma State's official athletics channel and tells everybody:
“I spank on my dad.” Absolutely ruthless.
But that's apparently what happens when the student becomes the teacher. Bowick has a pool table at home and has clearly gotten plenty of practice over the years. Now he says Dad isn't winning nearly as often.
He's Already Claiming the OSU Crown
This was my favorite part. Bowick didn't stop with his family.
He's apparently the best pool player on Oklahoma State's football team, too.
Any evidence? Well... “I haven't seen too many play pool.”
Minor detail Bowick doesn't need a tournament. He doesn't need rankings. He doesn't need film. He's seen enough.
No. 1 until somebody proves otherwise. You almost have to admire the confidence.
Maybe We Need a Tournament at This Point
Honestly, Oklahoma State Athletics might have some offseason content sitting right in front of it.
Get a pool table. Build a bracket. Bowick gets the No. 1 seed because he called his shot first. Then let the Cowboys settle this properly.
We've spent months ranking Oklahoma State's quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, linebackers and basically everything else.
Why stop there? I need the official OSU football pool power rankings. And considering Bowick has already publicly declared himself champion, he'd better win.
The Confidence Certainly Isn't New
The funny part is that the attitude fits what we've been hearing about Bowick on the football field, too.
The Illinois transfer arrived in Stillwater with considerable physical upside at 6-foot-4, giving Drew Mestemaker another big target in an Oklahoma State receiving corps loaded with options.
Eric Morris has already spoken highly of what Bowick could bring to the offense. Now we know there's apparently another skill on the résumé.
Receiver. Red-zone target. Pool shark. Not a bad combination.
Final Thoughts
Justin Bowick says he's the best pool player on Oklahoma State's football team.
Has he actually played everybody? Not exactly. But that's beside the point.
He has a pool table at home. He beats the guy who taught him how to play. And until another Cowboy challenges the throne, Bowick apparently sees no reason to surrender it.
Somebody at OSU needs to organize this tournament immediately.
Because after declaring yourself No. 1 publicly? You better be ready to defend the title. 🎱🤠
