Oklahoma State continued building its offensive future with the commitment of three-star Texas receiver Ake O'Neal. The 6-foot-3 playmaker chose the Cowboys over Utah, Duke, Wisconsin and Texas Tech, giving Eric Morris another athletic weapon in the 2027 recruiting class.

Eric Morris and his staff continue adding offensive firepower for the future, landing a commitment from three-star Texas receiver Ake O'Neal. The wideout chose Oklahoma State over offers from Utah, Duke, Wisconsin and Texas Tech, making it another impressive recruiting win for the Cowboys.

As a receiver, size and speed are two traits coaches covet most, and O'Neal brings both. Standing 6-foot-3, the Texas product has posted an 11.4-second 100-meter dash, a 6-foot-6 high jump and a 22-foot-7 long jump. It doesn't take much imagination to picture him going up for highlight-reel catches inside Boone Pickens Stadium.

O'Neal ranks among the top 180 receivers in the state of Texas. His Argyle High School team enjoyed a successful junior season, finishing 12-2. Individually, O'Neal recorded 21 catches for 335 yards and a touchdown. The numbers may not jump off the page, but they suggest a player with plenty of untapped potential.

The Cowboys' coaching staff had been pursuing O'Neal since February. After attending Junior Day and taking an official visit to Stillwater last month, he decided the Cowboys were the right fit.

The production may be limited, but that's often the case for prospects still developing physically and sharing touches on winning high school teams. What stands out more is the athletic profile. A 6-foot-3 receiver with track speed and elite leaping ability fits perfectly in Eric Morris' offense, which thrives on creating explosive plays down the field.

Morris has made no secret about wanting to build an offense centered around speed, size and versatility. O'Neal checks all three boxes. With two years of high school football still ahead of him, his ceiling may be even higher than his current ranking suggests.

O'Neal becomes the second receiver in Oklahoma State's 2027 class alongside in-state product Cooper Hooker and the seventh commitment overall. Until defensive back Bryson Brown committed last week, every member of the class played offense. O'Neal joins quarterback Carson White, tight end Talan Scott and offensive linemen Sonny Mullen and Chase Clark as part of a growing foundation.

The commitment is also another sign that recruits are buying into Morris' vision. Oklahoma State's emphasis on surrounding quarterbacks with weapons and protection has become increasingly clear.

With O'Neal now in the fold, the Cowboys continue building a class designed to fit the up-tempo style Morris hopes will define the next era of Oklahoma State football.

The future of OSU football continues.
