Oklahoma State has announced a home-and-home football series with Mississippi State for 2030 and 2031, completing its scheduled Power Four nonconference matchups through 2035. The Cowboys' future slate includes Arkansas, Michigan State, Mississippi State and Nebraska.
STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State continues to build an ambitious future football schedule, adding another Southeastern Conference opponent while completing its slate of Power Four nonconference matchups through the 2035 season.
The Cowboys announced Wednesday that they have agreed to a home-and-home series with Mississippi State, bringing the Bulldogs to Boone Pickens Stadium on September 7, 2030, before Oklahoma State travels to Starkville for the return matchup on September 6, 2031.
The agreement fills another important piece of Oklahoma State's future scheduling plans, ensuring the Cowboys have at least one Power Four non-conference opponent scheduled in every season from 2027 through 2035.
Cowboys Renew Series with Mississippi State
Oklahoma State and Mississippi State have met five times previously, with the Cowboys holding a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series.
The programs last faced each other in the 2013 AdvoCare Texas Kickoff at Reliant Stadium in Houston, where Oklahoma State earned a 21-3 victory. That game marked the only neutral-site meeting between the schools.
The previous four matchups all went to the home team, with Oklahoma State winning in Stillwater in 1971 and 1998 and Mississippi State claiming victories in 1970 and 1999.
The 2030 matchup will mark Mississippi State's first visit to Boone Pickens Stadium in more than three decades, while Oklahoma State will return to Starkville for the first time since 1999.
Power Four Opponents Set Through 2035
The addition of Mississippi State completes an impressive stretch of future nonconference matchups against opponents from the SEC and Big Ten.
Oklahoma State's scheduled Power Four nonconference opponents include:
| Season | Opponent | Location |
|---|---|---|
| 2027 | Arkansas | Away |
| 2028 | Michigan State | Home |
| 2029 | Michigan State | Away |
| 2030 | Mississippi State | Home |
| 2031 | Mississippi State | Away |
| 2032 | Arkansas | Home |
| 2033 | Arkansas | Away |
| 2034 | Nebraska | Away |
| 2035 | Nebraska | Home |
The Cowboys will face four different Power Four programs during that nine-year stretch, with five matchups against SEC opponents and four against Big Ten programs.
The future slate includes three meetings with Arkansas, two with Michigan State, two with Mississippi State and two with Nebraska.
Familiar Opponents and New Challenges
Oklahoma State's upcoming schedule offers a mixture of renewed rivalries and intriguing matchups.
The Cowboys will visit Arkansas in 2027 before hosting the Razorbacks in 2032 and returning to Fayetteville in 2033.
Michigan State will travel to Stillwater in 2028, with Oklahoma State making the return trip to East Lansing in 2029.
The Mississippi State series follows in 2030 and 2031.
Oklahoma State will then renew its history with former Big Eight rival Nebraska, traveling to Lincoln in 2034 before hosting the Cornhuskers in 2035.
The schedule provides Cowboys fans with opportunities to see several nationally recognizable programs visit Stillwater while giving Oklahoma State additional opportunities to compete against Power Four opponents outside Big 12 play.
Continuing a Commitment to Major Nonconference Matchups
Oklahoma State has already demonstrated its willingness to schedule challenging nonconference opponents.
The Cowboys hosted Oregon earlier this season, defeating the Ducks 39-31 on September 12 in the first home game of the Eric Morris era. That victory came after Oklahoma State traveled to Oregon in 2025, completing another high-profile home-and-home agreement.
With Arkansas, Michigan State, Mississippi State and Nebraska now on the horizon, Oklahoma State's future non-conference schedule continues to feature prominent opponents from across the country.
The addition of Mississippi State ensures that tradition will continue through at least 2035.
For Cowboys fans, it also means several notable matchups are already on the calendar well beyond the current season.
