Oklahoma State Athletic Director Chad Weiberg highlighted another successful year for Cowboy athletics while outlining the department's future in his annual letter. From championships to revenue sharing and NIL, here's what he had to say about the road ahead for OSU athletics.

Oklahoma State Athletic Director Chad Weiberg reflected on another successful year for Cowboy and Cowgirl athletics while outlining the department's priorities moving forward in an open letter released Tuesday by Oklahoma State Athletics.

Weiberg opened the message by emphasizing the high expectations that come with competing at Oklahoma State.

"Today's record is tomorrow's expectation."

He pointed to several accomplishments from the 2025-26 athletic year, including a national championship by the men's cross country team, Preston Stout's NCAA individual title in men's golf and the wrestling program becoming the first team in NCAA history to produce three freshman individual national champions in the same season through Jax Forrest, Sergio Vega and Landon Robideau.

The Cowboys also finished No. 28 in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings for a seventh consecutive top-30 national finish, produced 43 All-Americans across all sports and claimed the Bedlam Series by the largest margin in the rivalry's history. Oklahoma State also had six teams finish in the national top five and 10 programs place inside the top 20 nationally.

While celebrating those achievements, Weiberg acknowledged the rapidly changing landscape of college athletics and highlighted the department's efforts to adapt.

He noted Oklahoma State restructured its athletics leadership team during the winter with a greater emphasis on revenue generation and commercial partnerships, citing the department's historic jersey patch sponsorship with the Osage Nation as one of the first major successes of that strategy.

Weiberg also stressed the importance of donor support in the NIL and revenue-sharing era, thanking contributors to sports-designated scholarship funds, Loyal & True Marketing and the POSSE Excellence Fund for helping Oklahoma State remain competitive in attracting and retaining student-athletes.

He closed by thanking Cowboy fans and POSSE members for their continued support while encouraging fans to begin preparing for the upcoming athletic year, including the start of football season at Boone Pickens Stadium.

"There is much to be proud of from this past year and much to look forward to next year and beyond," Weiberg wrote.
