Armed with a nation-leading home run count and veteran leadership, the second-seeded Cowboys head to Tuscaloosa to leverage their explosive offense for a deep postseason run

For the 51st time in program history, Oklahoma State baseball has earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

The Cowboys received an at-large bid and the No. 2 seed in the Tuscaloosa Regional, hosted by the No. 7 national seed Alabama. The field also includes third-seeded USC Upstate and No. 4 seed Alabama State.

This selection extends OSU’s impressive active streak to 13 consecutive NCAA Regional appearances, one of the longest in the nation.

The Cowboys currently sit at 37-20 on the season, including an 18-12 record in Big 12 Conference play that resulted in a fifth-place finish.

After a tough run in the Big 12, Oklahoma State has positioned itself as a dangerous postseason team, largely thanks to one of the most potent offenses in college baseball.

OSU ranks second nationally with an eye-popping 137 home runs this season.

Leading the charge is standout Kollin Ritchie, a semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy, who has been a consistent force at the plate and a cornerstone of the Cowboys’ success.

Fourteenth-year head coach Josh Holliday, an Oklahoma State alum, has now guided his alma mater to an NCAA Regional appearance in every season he has been at the helm.

The only exception came in 2020 when the entire college baseball season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Holliday’s steady leadership and player development have transformed the Cowboys into a perennial postseason contender.

Oklahoma State is tied with Miami (FL) for third place all-time in NCAA Regional berths with 51, trailing only Texas (65) and Florida State (62). Their current 13-game streak of consecutive Regional appearances stands as the second-longest active streak in the country, behind only Florida’s remarkable 18-year run.

The Tuscaloosa Regional will feature four teams in a double-elimination format, one of 16 such regionals taking place across the country this weekend.

The winner will advance to a best-of-three Super Regional the following week against the champion of the Tallahassee Regional, with a berth in the College World Series on the line.
