Tracking who’s coming and who’s going for Steve Lutz and the Oklahoma State Men’s Basketball team.
Will the Cowboys match or have a better season in 2026-2027?

As the 2026 offseason begins for Oklahoma State men’s basketball, the NCAA Transfer Portal is once again the epicenter of roster construction for head coach Steve Lutz and the Cowboys.
Coming off a 20-15 season that ended with a second-round NIT exit, their best mark in Lutz’s young tenure, the program must navigate significant turnover after their positive but “left wanting more” type 2025-2026 season.
With several key contributors from the 2025-26 roster facing eligibility limits or exploring new opportunities, the Cowboys are projected to lose multiple rotation players while returning a core group of nine (subject to further portal movement). Early departures already include freshman guard Daniel Guetta, and more decisions are expected once the portal officially opens on April 7.
Lutz, who has leaned heavily on the portal to rebuild since taking over, will look to add high-upside transfers to complement the incoming 2026 freshman class headlined by in-state talent like 6’7 Jalen Montonati. The goal remains clear though. It’s put up or shut-up time for Steve Lutz and he’ll need to elevate the Cowboys in the ultra-competitive Big 12 and push for a long awaited NCAA Tournament return.
This transfer portal tracker will deliver updates on player departures, commitments, and potential targets as Oklahoma State reshapes its roster for the 2026-27 campaign. Stay tuned for moves, player profiles, and analysis on how the Cowboys are maneuvering one of the most critical offseasons under Lutz.
For sake of clarity, I’ve updated the eligibility year for each player to reflect their status for the 2026-2027 season.
