As Oklahoma State softball rides a six-game winning streak into the Big 12 Tournament, seniors like Ruby Meylan lead the No. 13 Cowgirls’ final push for conference tournament title and a deep NCAA postseason run.

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Cowgirls softball team is riding high as the regular season winds down, fresh off a commanding 5-0 shutout victory over Tulsa on Wednesday evening at Cowgirl Stadium.

With the win, OSU improved to 35-13 overall and 14-7 in Big 12 play, extending its winning streak to six games.

Redshirt freshman Madison Hoffman delivered a monster performance, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs, including a fourth-inning home run to center field and a sixth-inning triple.

On the mound, senior ace Ruby Meylan was dominant once again, tossing a complete-game shutout with just one hit allowed and nine strikeouts.

OSU now turns its attention to a three-game series against Kansas to close out the regular season, with the first pitch set for Friday at 6 p.m. CT at Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater.

The series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m. Specific pitching matchups for Friday’s opener have not been publicly announced by either program as of Thursday, though Oklahoma State is expected to lean heavily on its veteran rotation, likely featuring Meylan or one of her reliable counterparts, to secure momentum heading into conference tournament play.

Kansas enters the series at 13-8 in Big 12 action and 33-16 overall, sitting just behind the Cowgirls in the standings and fighting for positioning of its own.

The Cowgirls currently sit in third place in the Big 12 standings with a .667 conference winning percentage, trailing only Texas Tech (19-2) and Arizona (15-6).

Nationally, Oklahoma State is ranked No. 13 in recent polls, reflecting a strong resurgence after an early-season shakeout.

The team’s hot streak includes notable upsets and shutouts against ranked opponents, including a recent victory over No. 1 Oklahoma and a 5-0 blanking of No. 4 Texas. Under head coach Kenny Gajewski, the program has reestablished itself as a powerhouse.

This weekend also marks the conclusion of college careers for a talented group of Oklahoma State seniors.

Ruby Meylan, a two-time NFCA All-American and the staff ace, will make her final regular season starts in Stillwater after a stellar career that has seen her dominate innings and many strikeouts. Fellow senior pitchers include RyLee Crandall, who has battled back from injury to contribute meaningfully in the circle.

On the offensive and defensive side, seniors Amanda Hasler (catcher), Macy Graf (utility), Lexi McDonald (outfield), and redshirt senior Audrey Schneidmiller (catcher) are wrapping up their eligibility.

These players have been integral to the Cowgirls’ culture of relentlessness and excellence, helping lead the program back toward Oklahoma City aspirations after last year’s early NCAA exit.

The Big 12 Tournament is set for May 7-9 at OGE Energy Field at Devon Park in Oklahoma City—the same venue that hosts the Women’s College World Series. The top eight teams from the conference will compete in a single-elimination format after pool play or seeding rounds.

As the likely No. 3 seed, Oklahoma State would open against a lower-seeded opponent (potentially No. 6 or No. 7, such as UCF or Baylor, depending on final standings after this weekend). A win would advance the Cowgirls to the semifinals, where they could face top seeds like Texas Tech or Arizona.

The bracket favors teams with strong pitching and timely hitting, attributes OSU has displayed during its current surge. Seeding is still fluid, but a strong showing against Kansas could lock in the third spot and a favorable path.

Postseason prospects look bright for the Cowgirls. With a top-15 national ranking, solid RPI, and a 6-0 streak entering the final weekend, Oklahoma State is well-positioned for an NCAA Tournament regional host bid or at least a high seed.

Reaching the Women’s College World Series has been the program’s standard in recent years, and this senior-led group appears poised to make another deep run. A conference tournament title would provide invaluable momentum, but even a strong showing would set up favorable regional matchups.

As the regular season finale unfolds this weekend, Cowgirl Stadium will be electric with fans cheering on the seniors and the team’s push for hardware. Oklahoma State has the talent, the form, and the experience to contend at the highest level.

Whether it’s clinching seeding or simply building confidence, the next few days will be pivotal for Oklahoma State softball. The Big 12 Tournament awaits, and the Cowgirls are geared up to make noise in Oklahoma City, both in the conference event and beyond.
