Steve Lutz provided several updates on Oklahoma State basketball, but none bigger than Parsa Fallah seeking another season of eligibility. If granted, the Cowboys could bring back their leading scorer and add another experienced piece to a roster aiming to end a five-year NCAA Tournament drought.

Steve Lutz gave Oklahoma State fans a little sneak peek into the months leading up to his third full season as head coach when he spoke to the media Tuesday.

The full schedule is completed and expected to be released soon. The only game known so far is the reported Bedlam matchup against Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.

To prepare for the season and help this almost entirely new roster bond together, the Cowboys will travel to Puerto Rico and play a few exhibition games. It is something many Power Four programs have done in recent years and an effective strategy to get everyone on the same page while creating memories in the process.

Perhaps the biggest news, however, involved Parsa Fallah petitioning for another year of eligibility.

That would be massive for the Cowboys.

You're talking about bringing back your leading scorer, top three-point shooter and arguably your best overall shooter from last year's team to pair with top transfer addition Jordan Burks from UCF and returning guard Kanye Clary. Sign Oklahoma State fans up.

Plus, Fallah would provide a valuable mentor for Latrell Allmond, who arrives as a McDonald's All-American and the highest-rated recruit to commit to the Cowboys since Cade Cunningham in 2020.

Experience is hard to replace in today's college basketball landscape where rosters can completely turn over in one offseason. Fallah already knows Lutz's system and proved he can thrive in it, averaging nearly 16 points per game while stretching the floor with his outside shooting. Bringing back a veteran who has already helped lead a 20-win team would provide stability for a roster filled with newcomers and give the Cowboys another proven scoring option in the loaded Big 12.

Year three of the Steve Lutz era already looked promising with a mix of returners, transfers and top recruits, but bringing Fallah back into the fold could raise the ceiling even higher. A veteran scorer, one of the best shooters in the conference and a player already familiar with Lutz's culture would make Oklahoma State that much more dangerous.

Lutz has already shown signs of building something in Stillwater after guiding the Cowboys to 20 wins and an NIT appearance last season.

If Fallah's petition is granted, perhaps the next step is ending Oklahoma State's five-year NCAA Tournament drought.

And suddenly, Year Three becomes even more intriguing.

Now the wait is on for the schedule and the excitement of a new season keeps building.
