Preston Stout leads four Oklahoma State golfers inside the first PGA TOUR University Top 25 of the season. With Stout ranked No. 1 and Ethan Fang, Eric Lee and Gaven Lane all inside the top 18, the Cowboys have a chance to make PGA TOUR University history.

Oklahoma State men's golf hasn't even teed off its 2026-27 season yet, and the Cowboys are already making their presence felt nationally.

Four Oklahoma State seniors appeared inside the top 25 of the first PGA TOUR University Ranking of the season released Wednesday, led by Preston Stout at No. 1.

Stout is joined by Ethan Fang at No. 12, Eric Lee at No. 15 and Gaven Lane at No. 18. No other program has more than two players currently ranked inside the top 25.

The rankings provide another indication of the expectations surrounding an experienced Oklahoma State team entering the new season, but they also carry significant implications for each player's professional future.

PGA TOUR University provides graduating college golfers a direct pathway into professional golf based on their final ranking. The No. 1 player at the conclusion of stroke play at the NCAA Championship will earn PGA TOUR membership. Players finishing Nos. 2-10 will earn Korn Ferry Tour membership, while those finishing Nos. 11-25 will receive PGA TOUR Americas membership.

That puts Stout in position to chase one of college golf's biggest prizes during his senior season. Stout entered the year as the preseason No. 1 player in the Class of 2027 after another decorated season with the Cowboys.

The reigning NCAA individual champion has won four collegiate events over the past year, including his third consecutive Big 12 Championship. He has also represented the United States in both the Palmer Cup and Walker Cup.

Stout and Fang recently returned from Ireland after representing Team USA at the Walker Cup at Lahinch Golf Club. The Oklahoma State teammates helped the Americans sweep all four Sunday morning foursomes matches, with Stout and Fang defeating Stuart Grehan and Eliot Baker 3&2. Great Britain & Ireland ultimately rallied during singles to win the Walker Cup 13½-12½.

Fang now begins his senior season ranked No. 12 by PGA TOUR University. Lee and Lane give Oklahoma State two more players inside the top 20, creating an opportunity for the Cowboys to accomplish something no program has done since PGA TOUR University began graduating classes in 2021.

Eight teams have previously had three seniors from the same class finish high enough to earn PGA TOUR University benefits. None has had four.

Oklahoma State could become the first if Stout, Fang, Lee and Lane all remain inside the top 25 when the rankings are finalized following NCAA Championship stroke play May 28-31, 2027.

The Cowboys aren't the only program represented multiple times in the initial rankings. Six other schools have two players inside the top 25, including defending national champion Auburn, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Charlotte, Florida and Utah.

Stout also has some in-state company near the top. Oklahoma's Ryder Cowan opens the season ranked No. 3, behind Stout and Florida State's Tyler Weaver.

The rankings will change throughout the college season, but Oklahoma State couldn't ask for a much stronger starting position.

Four Cowboys. All four inside the top 18. And one sitting at No. 1 with a direct path to the PGA TOUR in front of him.

Oklahoma State will get its first opportunity to back up those rankings when the Cowboys open their season at the Sahalee Players Championship on Sept. 12-13.
