Does Viktor Hovland win again this year?

0%One week ago, Viktor Hovland was searching for answers.
On Monday morning, he found a trophy.
The former Oklahoma State star defeated world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in a dramatic one-hole playoff to win the Travelers Championship, capturing his first PGA Tour victory since the 2025 Valspar Championship.
The playoff lasted less than 20 minutes.
It delivered everything golf fans could have hoped for.
With a large crowd returning Monday morning after Sunday's weather delay, both players stepped to the first playoff hole knowing there would be little room for error.
Neither blinked.
Hovland split the fairway with his drive.
Scheffler did the same.
Both approach shots finished inside 10 feet.
The stage was set.
Hovland, who actually had the longer birdie attempt, watched his putt catch the right edge of the cup before dropping into the hole.
It was the kind of putt every golfer dreams about.
Scheffler still had a chance to extend the playoff.
Instead, his birdie attempt slid just past the hole.
Just like that, Hovland was back in the winner's circle.
The victory completed one of the most impressive bounce-back stories of the PGA Tour season.
Just eight days earlier, Hovland missed the cut at the U.S. Open.
Rather than taking time away from the game, he spent nearly four hours on the driving range, hitting roughly 230 golf balls while searching for answers.
Whatever he found changed everything.
He followed that range session with rounds of 61, 64 and a clutch final-round performance before finishing the job Monday morning.
It also marked another milestone in an already memorable season.
The victory came in front of a special group of supporters.
Norwegian fans, many still in the United States for the World Cup, packed the gallery and gave Hovland a home-field atmosphere throughout the week.
Even more meaningful, Hovland's mother, Galina, was in attendance to watch him compete in the United States for the first time.
She also got to witness him lift another PGA Tour trophy.
Sometimes, moments like that mean more than the trophy itself.
For Scheffler, it was another frustrating near miss.
The world's top-ranked player collected his fourth runner-up finish of the season, playing well enough to win most weeks but falling just short once again.
For Hovland, however, this week felt bigger than a single victory.
It felt like confirmation.
Confirmation that the player who won the 2023 Tour Championship is still there.
Confirmation that the endless search for better golf hadn't been in vain.
And confirmation that sometimes, the difference between missing a cut and lifting a trophy is simply refusing to stop working.
Viktor Hovland never stopped.
Now, he's winning again.
