The Cowboys lead the series 32-18 and have won 15 out of 20 matchups that have been in Stillwater. The Aggies and Cowboys last met on January 25, 2020, in College Station, in a game that ended in Oklahoma State’s favor, 73-62. This will be the Aggies' first visit to Gallagher-Iba Arena, in Stillwater, since the 2011-12 season (when Texas A&M was still a Big 12 team).
Oklahoma State's Men’s basketball team will play its second contest of the year. Sunday’s contest is the second in a stretch of six Oklahoma State home games to start the regular season, continuing Wednesday against Prairie View A&M. The game has officially been dubbed as an “Orange Out”. The Cowboys have 12 newcomers on the roster, including seven Division I transfers who combined to average more than 94 points for their respective teams last year. The Cowboys are 14-4 at Gallagher-Iba Arena under second-year head coach Steve Lutz. Last year the Cowboys posted their highest home winning percentage in more than a decade. Three of those four losses came to NET top-10 opponents and the other in the NIT quarterfinals.
In their last matchup, the Cowboys handled the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, 95-71. That game saw Cowboy sophomore guard, Vyctorious Miller score 21 points, while senior guard, Christian Coleman, had a double-double, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds against the Golden Eagles.
The Cowboys opponent, the Texas A&M Aggies, won 23 games in 2024-25, finished fifth in the SEC standings and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament as a Number 4 seed. Texas A&M is picked 13th out of 16 in the SEC preseason poll but is also one of 14 teams from that league currently ranked among the top-50 nationally, per KenPom. The Aggies started the season with home wins over Northwestern State and Texas Southern.
Cowboy Player to watch in game two:
Sophomore Guard – Vyctorious Miller
Expect Cowboys sophomore guard, Vyctorious Miller, to, again, lead the charge for the Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. Miller posted 21 points in the Cowboys first contest against Oral Roberts, and I believe he should be a threat for double digits against Texas A&M. Can Miller be the “gel-guy” the Cowboys will need to defeat the Aggies on Sunday? I believe so.
