A prolific wave of North Texas transfers joins Drew Mestemaker to revitalize the Pokes' attack, but a thin offensive line remains the critical hurdle for Big 12 contention

The Oklahoma State Cowboys enter 2025 with what should be an explosive offense. Drew Mestemaker leads the way at the quarterback position with a great deal of weapons to work with.

Scoring should not be a problem for the Pokes this season, as they have multiple guys who can run and catch the ball.

Mestemaker, Hawkins, Young, Coleman, and Lewis all come to Stillwater from a North Texas squad that ranked first in the country in both total offensive yards per game (512.4 YPG) and points per game (45.1 PPG).

At North Texas last season, this group’s historical offensive output propelled the team to a 12–2 record, a final ranking of No. 24 in the AP poll, and a victory in the New Mexico Bowl.

The biggest question mark for the Cowboys is the offensive line, which has been a problem for a number of years now. Fortunately for OSU, they have experience as they will be starting three seniors, along with one junior upfront.

If the Cowboys’ core players can stay healthy, then this offense has a real chance to do some special things. The starters can hold their own and compete with anyone in the Big 12, but there isn’t a ton of depth behind them, creating limitations if the team gets banged up.

Oklahoma State fans have been spoiled over the years with high-powered offenses, and Eric Morris’ group should be fun to watch, reminding fans of the football they’ve enjoyed over the years again.
