Sooners launch SEC play at home against Florida, then face a gauntlet of top teams, including Texas and Texas A&M, testing their mettle all season
The Southeastern Conference officially released the 2026 women's volleyball conference schedule on Wednesday, marking an exciting milestone for the league's teams as they prepare for another competitive season.
Head coach Aaron Mansfield enters his forth season as the Sooners' women's volleyball head coach.
Oklahoma will kick off SEC play at home on Sunday, September 27, hosting the Florida Gators at McCasland Field House in Norman. This home opener sets the tone for a challenging yet opportunity-filled 15-match conference slate, where each of the 16 SEC teams will face every other member exactly once.
The Sooners will balance their schedule with seven home matches and eight road contests, providing a solid mix of familiar surroundings for fans and tough tests on the road against some of the conference's strongest programs.
Home games at McCasland Field House will feature high-energy atmospheres as Oklahoma welcomes a slate of formidable opponents, while the road portion will demand resilience and adaptability across multiple weekends.
Entering the 2026 season, Oklahoma continues building momentum under Mansfield's leadership. The program has shown steady growth, and this year's schedule offers a chance to showcase that progress against familiar rivals and rising contenders alike.
Following the September 27 home opener against Florida, Oklahoma will hit the road for a quick two-match swing. The Sooners travel to face South Carolina on Friday, October 2, and Georgia on Sunday, October 4.
Last season, OU split these matchups at home, earning a 3-1 victory over the Gamecocks while falling in four sets to the Bulldogs. These early road tests will provide valuable insights as the team settles into conference rhythm.
Oklahoma then returns to Norman for an extended four-match homestand that promises to energize the local crowd. The stretch begins on Wednesday, October 7, against reigning national champion Texas A&M, followed by a Sunday, October 11, showdown with rival Texas.
The homestand continues with Kentucky on Friday, October 16, and wraps up against Tennessee on Sunday, October 18. Hosting these powerhouse programs back-to-back will test Oklahoma's depth and give fans multiple chances to see top-tier competition in person.
After the homestand, the Sooners embark on their longest road trip of the season, six consecutive matches over three weekends. The swing opens Friday, October 23, at Mississippi State and continues Sunday, October 25, at Alabama.
The following weekend takes them to Arkansas on Friday, October 30, and Auburn on Sunday, November 1. The road marathon concludes with matches at Ole Miss on Friday, November 6, and LSU on Sunday, November 8.
In last year's matchups against these six teams, Oklahoma posted a 4-2 record, including sweeps of Mississippi State, Alabama, and LSU, plus a 3-1 home win over Arkansas. They dropped a tight 3-2 decision to Ole Miss and fell 3-1 to Auburn, both in Norman. This year's road-heavy stretch offers a prime opportunity for revenge and momentum-building.
To close the regular season, Oklahoma returns home for two final matches at McCasland Field House. The Sooners host Missouri on Friday, November 13, and Vanderbilt on Sunday, November 15. Last season, OU earned road victories over both, winning 3-1 at Vanderbilt and rallying for a 3-2 triumph at Missouri. Strong home performances here could be key to securing favorable positioning heading into the postseason.
The 2026 SEC Volleyball Tournament is set for November 20-24 at Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia, where the top teams from the regular season will compete for the league crown and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Match times and television broadcast details for the entire conference schedule will be released at a later date.
Oklahoma's full non-conference schedule, along with information on season tickets and single-game tickets for home matches at McCasland Field House, will also be announced in the coming weeks.
