The Oregon Ducks, after an incredible 2025 college football season, will now be greatly represented at this year’s NFL Draft.
While there are many names from head coach Dan Lanning’s squad that are set to make the jump to the next level, tight end Kenyon Sadiq continues to make headlines before the 2026 NFL Draft.
NFL Draft analyst Lance Zierlein recently released his draft profile on Sadiq, comparing him to one of the best tight ends currently in the NFL, Trey McBride.
“[Sadiq’s] talented after the catch, with the ability to make things easier for play-callers and quarterbacks looking to move the sticks,” Zierlein wrote. “He has the body control and hand strength to win contested catches, but will occasionally allow balls to hit the ground on lower-difficulty plays. He’s adequate as a blocker, giving good effort in-line and locating and landing on linebackers as a move blocker. Teams looking to diversify their passing game options with a talented pass-catching tight end could make Sadiq a priority.”
Troy Wayrynen-Imagn ImagesSadiq quickly made his way onto the radar of many draft analysts during the 2025 college football season, as the 6-foot-3, 245 lbs. pass catcher became one of the Ducks’ primary targets on offense.
As a junior, the prolific tight end finished with 560 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 51 catches, while also proving to be one of the most athletic playmakers in the 2026 NFL Draft class.
His incredible stint during the 2025 season has now put him in first-round conversations prior to the upcoming draft, and being compared to a terrific player at his position in McBride further solidifies the hype.
McBride, a former second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, is coming off one of his best seasons at the NFL level. In 2025, the highly-touted tight end finished with 1,239 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 126 catches, which was the most receiving yards by a tight end last year.
Both Sadiq and McBride share a similar skill set, as their athleticism enables them to be utilized in various ways in the passing game.
With Sadiq recently being invited to the 2026 NFL Combine, he will now have a chance to boost his draft stock before the big day. Depending on whether he runs the 40-yard dash, Sadiq’s testing numbers could help increase his stock and solidify himself as a true first-round pick.
