When you think about Eugene and the University of Oregon, most people's minds jump to a few things quickly. Some may say football, or some may say track and field, but most will likely say Nike.
Nike is one of the largest and most well-known clothing brands in the entire world. They create uniforms for many of the biggest teams in the world, sponsor the greatest athletes, and collaborate with some of the most iconic brands. One fun fact that many who follow the brand know is that they started in Eugene.
In 1964, Oregon Track and Field coach Bill Bowerman and his student Phil Knight started a company called Blue Ribbon Sports, which eventually turned into the behemoth we all know today as Nike.
Due to the pair's affiliation with the University of Oregon, the Ducks have long been a 'testing grounds' of sorts for many of Nike's top designs, specifically the football team. For years, due to Nike, the Ducks have been at the forefront of uniform design and team apparel. To the point where the two brands are nearly synonymous.
This brand is assigned to the athletes when they come to play sports in Eugene; they don't have a choice. Once you get to the pros, then you can decide for yourself. Today, it was announced that Oregon Ducks TE Kenyon Sadiq may be going a different direction once he enters the league.

Today, Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq was a part of an announcement, but it was not with the brand he's repped for the past three years.
Kenyon Sadiq joined a pretty prolific list of some of the top draft prospects by signing with Adidas. Some of the other players on the list included likely number one overall pick Fernando Mendoza, as well as big names like Arvell Reese, Caleb Downs, and Carnell Tate.
While Oregon has the closest tie with Nike, the list was riddled with other players coming from big Nike schools like Ohio State and USC. Is this something Nike will have to take into consideration, or just a flash in the pan? Regardless, Sadiq will have some new gear to rock with whoever drafts him.
