As the Oregon Ducks continue to prepare for the 2026 college football season, fans are beginning to closely monitor the program’s 2027 recruiting class.
While head coach Dan Lanning’s upcoming class may not be at full strength right now, the Ducks received some positive news regarding one of the best defenders in the cycle this week.
According to On3Sports’ Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday morning, the Ducks are one of six programs in play for 2027 four-star linebacker Noah Glover.
The highly-touted defender is widely regarded as one of the best prospects in the upcoming recruiting cycle. Glover is the No. 9-ranked linebacker in the country, as well as the No. 2 prospect in the state of Virginia, according to 247Sports' Composite.
Throughout his time at Battlefield High School, the talented playmaker has continued to make a name for himself, which has led to his selection to play in the 2026 Under Armour All-America Game.
At 6-foot-1, 205 lbs., Glover may have a small stature to potentially become an elite linebacker at the college level, but his combination of athleticism and instincts allows him to be a force in both the pass and run game. In addition to his terrific coverage ability, Glover is also a threat as a pass rusher, making him a true jack-of-all-trades linebacker.
However, to secure the prolific defender, Lanning and the Ducks’ coaching staff will have to compete against the likes of Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, and his in-state program, Virginia Tech.
The Bulldogs have done an incredible job of producing NFL-caliber linebackers in recent memory, and with the Hurricanes coming off a National Championship run in 2025, Oregon needs to make Glover a top priority this offseason.
Looking at the rest of the Ducks’ 2027 recruiting class, Lanning already managed to land four commits in the cycle, including four-star EDGE Cameron Pritchett.
If Glover were to ultimately commit to Oregon, he would become the program’s second linebacker commit in the class, pairing him with three-star prospect Ngata.
Glover has yet to announce where he plans to take official visits this year, but with the Ducks making the cut for him is a step in the right direction.
