Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have landed another player for their 2027 class.

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are continuing to add talent to their 2027 class as they have landed four-star tight end Anthony Cartwright III.

Cartwright chose Oregon over Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, and LSU.

"It's been a long time coming," Cartwright said. "I feel like my relationship and the situation there is best for me, especially because coach Drew (Mehringer) is the OC now, so we're going to make some noise and bring a natty to Eugene."

Lanning and the Ducks have done a great job developing tight ends in recent years, and Cartwright could be their next great player at the position.

Oregon has had Terrance Ferguson and Kenyon Sadiq selected in the NFL Draft in recent years and has developed Jamari Johnson into a likely early pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Ferguson had four productive years with the Ducks, finishing with 134 receptions for 1,537 yards and 16 touchdowns. The Los Angeles Rams then selected Ferguson with their second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sadiq also played at a high level in his three seasons at Oregon, as he had 80 receptions for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns. The New York Jets took Sadiq with the 16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Johnson will play one more year with the Ducks, but has already established himself as one of the best tight ends in college football. In the 2025 season, playing alongside Sadiq, Johnson finished with 32 receptions for 510 yards and three touchdowns.

He could take another step in the 2026 season, as he will be Oregon's top tight end with Sadiq out the door.

With the consistent development the Ducks have done at tight end, Cartwright should be excited to join the program. Oregon is also set at the quarterback position for years to come as Dante Moore will start in 2026, transfer addition Dylan Raiola will take over in 2027, and then five-star quarterback commit Will Mencl will become the starter.

Lanning and the Ducks will compete for a National Championship in the 2026 season, but continue to add talent to future classes.
