With Oregon's basketball program having seen better days, this player could be the start of getting the team back where it belongs.

The Oregon Ducks men's basketball team is nowhere near where they want to be. They've never been a blue blood basketball school like Duke or North Carolina, but in their history, even recent history, they've been able to put together some fantastic teams and have some stellar players in the NBA.

NIL culture certainly helps, but in the oftentimes one-and-done culture of college basketball, having talented players is imperative because you don't typically have the time to build championship chemistry over the years.

This season, the Ducks' men's teams find themselves sitting at 11-19 and at the bottom of the barrel in the Big Ten. With little to no hope of earning a spot in the big dance, it's important that they start looking at how to improve next season.

One way to do that is to load up on talent by recruiting the best of the best to Eugene. This weekend, the Ducks will be doing their best to do just that as they'll be hosting one of the top prospects in the country.

Ducks to Host 4-Star SF Boyuan Zhang This Weekend

Boyuan Zhang is a 6'7 SF prospect out of Garden Grove, CA, and he could certainly be one of the pieces that could kick-start Oregon's program. He's only just moved to the US from China six months ago, but he's already making a name for himself.

He's been one of the fastest-rising recruits in the country, as Zhang is considered a top-100 prospect by 247Sports and a top-25 prospect by Rivals.

He has a fantastic combination of size, skill, and deep shooting ability that has caught scouts' attention. He's not just a sharpshooter either. He's a true Swiss Army knife at forward due to the fact that he utilizes his size to get to his spots and win with physicality down low.

Zhang also currently has offers from schools like Minnesota, Illinois, and California. Oregon joined that list on February 22nd and was quick to schedule this March visit. Hopefully for Ducks fans, he has a fantastic time in Eugene and looks to bring the Ducks back to national prominence.
