Oregon Football Announces Date for 2026 Spring Game

The Oregon Ducks made progress in 2025, making one more round in the College Football Playoff than they did in 2024, when they won the Big Ten championship.

The Ducks defeated James Madison in the first round of the CFP before shutting out then-No. 4 Texas Tech in the CFP quarterfinal at the Orange Bowl.

However, No. 1 Indiana proved too much for Oregon, blowing out head coach Dan Lanning's squad 56-22 in the CFP semifinal at the Peach Bowl in January.

Oregon received good news for 2026 when quarterback Dante Moore chose to return for one more season.

Moore was expected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 draft if he chose to enter. He's expected to be one of the best quarterbacks in college football next season.

The Ducks have aspirations for the national championship in the upcoming season. Lanning will try to set the tone during spring practices.

Per Oregon, the team announced its annual Spring Game will be played on April 25 at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.

"The Oregon football team's annual Spring Game, presented by Lane Transit District, has been scheduled for Saturday, April 25, and will kick off at 1 p.m. PT at Autzen Stadium," wrote Nate Kreuger with the Ducks.

"The game will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network. Admission to the Spring Game is free. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Food for Lane County food drive presented by Pacific Source Health Plans."

The Oregon coaching staff will look much different in 2026 after offensive coordinator Will Stein left to become the head coach at Kentucky, and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi left to become the head coach at Cal.

Lanning named Chris Hampton as Lupoi's replacement. Drew Mehringer will be the new defensive coordinator.

Hampton wants to compete for a championship next season.

"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to be the defensive coordinator at the University of Oregon," Hampton said in January, via the Ducks. "This program is built on great players and more importantly great people.

"I'm excited to go to work with our guys every day and compete for championships."

The Spring Game will give both assistants a chance to prepare for a how to approach a game day before Oregon opens its season at home against Boise State on Sept. 5.
