There hasn't been all that much of a rivalry on the field between these two teams, but their recruiting battles have heated up with yet another signing.
The University of Oregon football team will look to repeat its dominance of last season with obvious hopes of making it even further than they did last year. They look to be set to dominate for years to come for a few reasons.
This year specifically, they're set to return a ton of talent all over the field with guys that should be playing on Sundays. Past this upcoming season, they'll be a top-tier program due to the recruiting job that Dan Lanning has done.
He's put together some of the best recruiting classes the program has ever seen and even had its best class ever with the 2nd-ranked class in 2026.
The Ducks are elite when it comes to their brand, facilities, coaching, and a path to the NFL, which all work in their favor when it comes to recruiting. Despite this, one of their rivals has now, for the third time recently this offseason, bested them.
USC Flips Oregon Commit OT Drew Fielder

Despite the swap in conference, one thing has remained the same for the Ducks. They beat USC consistently.
Off the field, it's safe to say that as of late, the Trojans have been getting their lick back. It started with ATH Honor Fa'alave Johnson, then it was CB Danny Lang, and now, the Trojans have officially flipped OT Drew Fielder.
Fielder had been committed to Oregon since February 1st, but will now be staying home in Southern California. The 6'6 290lb Anaheim, California prospect said in a post, "I'm staying home! FIGHT ON."
To be fair, all three of these recruits USC has 'stolen' from Oregon do all come from the Southern California area, so in all honesty, these are recruits you should be landing if you're USC.
Recently, after the Danny Lang flip, USC took a shot at the Ducks on social media with a video stating that "the grass isn't always greener." They followed that up tonight with a stop light shifting from green to yellow, and finally to red with a 'fight on' peace sign in the red.
Their recruiting wins may have made these social media victory laps warranted, but they need to remember that games are won on the field, and that's something USC has failed to do against Oregon for some time.
