The Oregon Ducks moved up in the latest AP Poll after a big win over Portland State.
The Oregon Ducks struggled in the first two games of the season, escaping with a win over Boise State in Week 1 and suffering a stunning loss to Oklahoma State in Week 2.
Oregon did have a bounce-back week against Portland State, coming away with a dominant 84-0 win. While it was an inferior opponent, it was the best the Ducks have looked all season and could give them momentum to win in a Week 4 matchup against the USC Trojans.
The offense looked much better with Dante Moore putting up great numbers, completing 19 of 23 passes for 280 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Moore exited after the first half as the Ducks had the game firmly in control.
The receiving game was spread out, with many players getting opportunities. Messiah Hampton led the way with two touchdowns, while Evan Stewart, Dakorien Moore, Kendre Harrison, Andrew Olesh, and Brady Bidwell each found the end zone once.

The Ducks' offense played at a high level no matter who was on the field, but their defense was equally impressive. Jett Washington came away with two interceptions, while Davon Benjamin also had an interception. Oregon's defense held the Vikings scoreless in their strongest showing in the 2026 season.
After their win, the Ducks have moved up to the 20th-ranked team in the country but still have a ton of work to do to reestablish themselves as a contender for the College Football Playoff. Oregon entered the season ranked second, but has fallen far after a rough start to the year.
The Ducks will have a major matchup against the Trojans, which could catapult them up the rankings with a win. USC enters the contest undefeated and ranked 12th in the country.
Dan Lanning and Oregon looked back on track against Portland State, but they need to win over the Trojans in what will be a true test for the Ducks' chances to make it to the College Football Playoff in the 2026 season.
