Oregon lost a key offensive target for quarterback Dante Moore for the 2026 season when tight end Kenyon Sadiq declared for the upcoming draft.
Sadiq is expected to be taken in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and there's a real possibility the Ducks standout could be taken in the top 10.
In Sadiq's final season at Oregon, the six-foot-three, 245-pound tight end recorded 51 receptions for 560 yards and eight touchdowns.
Sadiq did more than catch passes. He steadily improved as a run blocker during his three seasons at Oregon.
During his news conference at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week, Sadiq claimed his versatility is what stands out about his skillset.
"I'm willing to do whatever my team wants me to do," Sadiq said, via the Chargers. "Production is one thing, but also being a great teammate as well.
"Just displaying my capabilities mentally but also the attributes I can bring to a team not just snap count, but on special teams as well... Being versatile is a big part of my game. It's just sharpening up all the aspects of my game to being an elite level."
More NFL teams are trying to run 12 personnel, which features two tight ends. It allows for offenses to hide their scheme better, allowing for explosive receiving plays for tight ends between run blocking assignments.
Moore is excited about how tight ends are being used in the league.
"You're able to do so much with different kinds of tight ends and different personnel's in the game whether it's explosive passes, run game or creating mismatches in different places," Sadiq said.
"Being able to create explosive pass plays but also be able to run the ball. It creates a lot of mismatches on the defensive side... If you have a great tight end, or a couple great tight ends, it really helps out your offense."
Rookie tight ends have had big seasons recently. Brock Bowers was a star tight end with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024.
Colston Loveland led the Chicago Bears in receiving last season. Tyler Warren made an immediate impact on the Indianapolis Colts in 2025.
Sadiq could be the next tight end to be a star in the league.
