The Oregon women have been having a great season to this point, but this record just proves their dominance.

When you hear the University of Oregon, your first few thoughts when it comes to sports are likely football, track and field, and maybe Nike in a broader sense. Recently, the university made the move from the dissolved Pac-12 to the Big Ten.

This move had many wondering if Oregon's sports would be good enough to handle the more rigorous schedule the Big Ten would provide. It's been varied to this point; for football, it's been no problem, but for basketball, that's a different story. For softball, however, the Oregon Ducks are rolling.

Oregon's softball team finished first in the Big Ten last season and is looking like a contender yet again this season in a talented field. Their season has been filled with highs to this point as they look to repeat the success they found last season.

Recently, they played the University of Indiana and put together such an incredible performance that they not only avenged the football team's loss in the college football playoffs to the Hoosiers, but set a school record in the process.

Oregon Softball Sets Record for Single-Game Runs

So far this season, the Ducks are currently 24-8 and 5-1 in the Big Ten conference. Their performance to this point has them ranked as the number four team in the Big Ten and the 17th-ranked team in the entire country.

On March 23rd, the Ducks took on the Hoosiers and made history. By winning the game a whopping 24-12, they set the all-time University of Oregon record for most runs recorded in a single game

This is an incredible accomplishment by an incredible team, and they have stellar players all over the field who helped accomplish this.

You have Elon Butler, who's currently top-ten in the Big Ten in both home runs and RBIs, you have Lyndsey Grein, who leads the Big Ten in strikeouts and was just named the NFCA Pitcher of the Week, and many others on a deep roster.

This is an outstanding feat for the Oregon Softball team and one that they'll both be proud of and remember for the rest of their lives.
