Oregon Star Edge Rusher Teitum Tuioti Earns Bold Draft Take

Oregon Ducks star pass rusher Teitum Tuioti had a breakout season in 2025 and will be a key piece for their defense in the 2026 season.

In Dane Brugler of The Athletic's early 2027 NFL Mock Draft, he has Tuioti going to the Philadelphia Eagles with the 24th overall pick.

Tuioti has been a contributor in all three of his years with the Ducks, finishing with 30 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, and a pass deflection in his freshman campaign.

In his sophomore season, his numbers jumped to 58 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble.

Tuioti had his best season in 2025, as he had 68 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, five pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

He is one of the best pass rushers in the nation heading into next season and could boost his draft stock more with another elite season. Oregon has been able to retain a ton of its talent from last season, including quarterback Dante Moore, tight end Jamari Johnson, and Tuioti.

Moore will be the leader of the offense after a productive season, where he completed 71.8 percent of his passes for 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He added production in the run game, with 156 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

He should be in the Heisman Trophy conversation, while Johnson will be one of his top weapons. Johnson had 32 receptions for 510 yards and three touchdowns while being the second tight end behind 2026 first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq.

However, on defense, the Ducks will be leaning on Tuioti to be a leader and be a disruptive force off the edge.

With those stars back in the fold, it gives the Ducks a great chance to make a run at winning the National Championship. Oregon advanced to the College Football Playoff Semifinal last season, but fell to the eventual champion Indiana Hoosiers.

If Tuioti has another great campaign and the Ducks go on another deep run, it could help him emerge as one of the top pass rushers in the 2027 NFL Draft.
