Oregon Ducks star tight end Jamari Johnson has received a bold draft prediction.

Oregon Ducks star Jamari Johnson is one of the top tight ends in the nation heading into the 2026 season.

Johnson had a very productive season in 2025 for the Ducks, hauling in 32 receptions for 510 yards and three touchdowns.

He did this while being the second tight end behind Kenyon Sadiq, who was drafted with the 16th overall pick by the New York Jets in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Johnson will now be the top tight end for Oregon, and with star quarterback Dante Moore returning for another season, they could put up huge numbers together, boosting their draft stock.

Johnson also opted to return, rather than entering the draft, where he likely would've been one of the first tight ends off the board.

"I felt like I haven't really done anything in college football. That was one of the reasons," Johnson said. "I have a lot of stuff to work on that's within footwork and hand placement, block in the run game, and route details. Getting to the right depth and just touching up everything I can so when I get to the NFL, there's none of those problems."

In Dane Brugler of The Athletic's early 2027 NFL Mock Draft, he has Johnson landing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 13th overall pick.

Johnson showcased his value in 2025, as he was a key part of their offense that led them all the way to the College Football Playoff Semifinal.

In a bigger role in the offense in 2026, Johnson could solidify himself as the number one tight end in the country.

Johnson and the Ducks have lofty goals for the season, as they are among the favorites to make it to the College Football Playoff and win the National Championship. If Johnson and Moore's connection becomes elite, it would go a long way in winning it all.
