Oregon Star QB Dante Moore Lands Bold Prediction for 2027 NFL Draft

Oregon Ducks star quarterback Dante Moore opted to return to the program for another season despite having the chance to be one of the first players off the board had he declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Moore returned to the Ducks to gain more experience and help the team compete for a National Championship after reaching the College Football Playoff Semifinal in the 2025 season.

Moore had an incredible campaign in 2025, completing 71.8 percent of his passes for 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns. 

He is off to a solid start in 2026, as he's completed 69.7 percent of his passes for 926 yards, nine touchdowns, and zero interceptions. However, Moore and the Ducks suffered a stunning loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys that dropped them from being one of the favorites to win the National Championship to way down in the AP Poll Rankings.

Oregon regained their footing with a win over the USC Trojans on Saturday and moved back up to the 15th-ranked program in the country, but they did so without Moore for most of the game.

Moore left the game in the second quarter after a scramble in which he slid down and was hit in the head by Desman Stephens II. Stephens was ejected for his hit, and Moore was taken off the field on a cart and transported to a local hospital. 

The star quarterback did receive good news as the MRI and CT scans came back clean. Moore has been diagnosed with a concussion but avoided a more serious injury.

Prior to the injury, Moore had been playing well, completing eight of 10 passes for 77 yards. He could return to the field sometime in the next couple of weeks and should still be one of the top picks in the 2027 NFL Draft.

In Sports Illustrated's mock draft, Moore lands with the Atlanta Falcons with the third overall pick. This could be a great fit for Moore, as the Falcons have talented weapons already in place with star running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London, and tight end Kyle Pitts.

Moore has proven to be an efficient and accurate passer during his time with the Ducks, and if he can lead them into the College Football Playoff once again, it would help him solidify his place among the top quarterbacks in the draft class.
