Per Dane Bugler of The Athletic, left tackle Isiah World suffered a torn ACL before halftime of the Peach Bowl. He had surgery earlier in February and will not attend the combine next week.
"Sources: Oregon LT Isaiah World suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during the playoff game vs. Indiana," Bugler posted on X. "Had surgery earlier this month. Won't be attending the Combine, but will be available for medical re-checks and 30 visits.
'I was told the injury happened just before halftime. Unfortunate situation for World who was a top-100 hopeful prospect. It does explain why he missed the 2nd half vs. Indiana and pulled out of the Senior Bowl."
Last spring, Lanning credited World for developing into an elite football player after being a star basketball player in high school.
"God doesn't make very many people like that," Lanning said, via USA Today. "And he's got a great spirit every single day, you know?
"He has the right mindset and the right attitude, this guy that played basketball in high school, and then kind of, he's grown into a football player. And with that size and strength, it's something that we really want to take advantage of."
World will face significant adversity heading into the league after suffering a torn ACL. But he has the talent to develop into a starter in the league once he gains his health.
