Oregon Steals Weapon from Colorado, Deion Sanders in Transfer Portal cover image

The Oregon Ducks have poached a weapon from Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes in the transfer portal.

The Oregon Ducks have mostly focused on defense in this year's transfer portal. In fact, up until this week, they hadn't added a single running back.

But that has changed.

Oregon has poached former Colorado Buffaloes halfback Simeon Price in the portal after Price spent one season with Deion Sanders and Co. in 2025.

Price carried the ball 21 times for 143 yards and a couple of touchdowns last season, playing in just four games before an ankle injury knocked him out for the year.

The Ducks will actually represent the fourth team Price has played for throughout his collegiate career.

Price began his NCAA tenure at Mississippi State in 2021 and spent three years with the Bulldogs, but barely received any playing time. He accumulated just 35 carries for 191 yards while also logging 15 catches for 125 yards and a score.

The Pensacola, Fl. native then transferred to Coastal Carolina, where he proceeded to spend one season in 2024. That year, Price managed 136 rushing yards on 44 attempts. He would then transfer to Colorado.

Whether or not Price will actually get any playing time in Eugene remains to be seen.

Oregon may have lost Noah Whittington to the NFL Draft, but its running back room is still pretty crowed with Jordan Davison, Dierre Hill Jr. and Da'Jaun Riggs. Both Davison and Hill played quite a bit in 2025, and Riggs will almost surely be ahead of Price on the depth chart, as well.

A former three-star recruit, Price was initially placed under the "athlete" category as a prospect. He was the 44th-ranked athlete in the nation in the class of 2021.

The Ducks have now made 13 additions in the transfer portal overall, including former five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.

Oregon has posted back-to-back 13-win campaigns, although it was routed in the College Football Playoff both seasons. Last year, the Ducks were hammered by Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, and earlier this month, they were annihilated by Indiana in the Peach Bowl.

With Dante Moore returning for 2026, however, Oregon should be viewed as one of the top contenders for the national championship next season.

We'll see if the Ducks can finally get over the hump.
