Oregon Ducks tight end Jamari Johnson has received an interesting prediction for his NFL future.
The Oregon Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning have a roster stacked full of potential NFL talent.
Headlined by quarterback Dante Moore, the Ducks could have a handful of first-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft. A new mock draft has shed some light on those picks.
CBS Sports analyst Chris Hummer has released a way-too-early mock draft that would see Oregon have four players selected in the first round.
Moore was the first Ducks' standout off of the board, heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the No. 13 overall pick. After Moore, Oregon tight end Jamari Johnson was the next player off of the board.
Hummer has predicted that Johnson will land with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at pick No. 16 overall.
"The other tight end in Oregon's room last year, Johnson had a ton of production next to Kenyon Sadiq with 510 yards and three touchdowns on 15.9 yards per catch," Hummer wrote. "The 6-foot-5, 257-pound tight end is a run-after-the-catch threat and a friendly (and massive) target for his quarterback. "
Needless to say, the Ducks were spoiled at the tight end position last season. Having both Sadiq and Johnson playing within the same offense was a dream scenario for most teams.
Johnson has the size and athleticism to be a dangerous tight end for years to come. He will now have a chance to showcase his entire skill-set within the Oregon offense now that Sadiq has moved on to the NFL.
Behind Johnson, there were two other Ducks stars predicted to head off to the NFL in the first round.
A'Marui Washington, the standout defensive tackle, was projected to land with the San Francisco 49ers at pick No. 29 overall. Finally, pass rusher Teitum Tuioti was predicted to land with the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 31 overall.
Lanning has the talent to make a run at a National Championship this season. Regardless of where Oregon ends up to complete the 2026 season, there are quite a few players on the roster with incredibly bright futures ahead of them playing on Sunday's.
