Despite elite speed and effortless athleticism, the sophomore standout faces questions regarding his technical consistency as he returns from injury to anchor the Oregon Ducks’ high-powered offense.
The Oregon Ducks have one of the best receiver corps in the nation, and that should help propel quarterback Dante Moore into the Heisman Trophy conversation during the 2026 campaign.
Last season, the Ducks had issues at receiver with Evan Stewart suffering a torn patellar tendon in his right knee during summer workouts which ended his chances to play in the 2025 season.
Stewart is back, which is a big boost for Moore, but could be a substantial addition for star receiver Dakorien Moore, as his presence will stretch opposing defenses. Moore had his own knee injury to deal with late last season, but should be primed for a bigger 2026 season in Eugene.
Eli Lederman and Max Olson of ESPN ranked Moore as the No. 7 wide receiver headed into the 2026 campaign. They quoted a Big Ten staff who thinks Moore has issues with route running, but has the tools to be a game changer for the Ducks.
"He can go," the staffer said. "He has got some holes in his game in terms of his route running and consistency, but he certainly made some ridiculous plays.
"He was pretty unstoppable in some of their games and he's only going to get better. He has got all the physical ability."
Moore, a five-foot-11 athlete from Duncanville, Texas, recorded 34 receptions for 497 yards and three touchdowns in his freshman season. He should have a chance to do even more for Oregon's offense in his sophomore season.
ESPN quoted an SEC general manager who thinks Moore's athletic ability makes him look effortless on the field.
"The game comes to him so naturally," the GM said. "It's effortless when he's out there. You don't see other guys move so effortlessly, and on top of that his athletic ability is through the roof."
In addition to being used as a target, Moore ran four times for 49 yards and a touchdown last season. The Ducks need to find creative ways to put the ball in the hands of their speedy wide out.
Look for Moore to have a breakout season, even though he'll split some targets with Stewart back on the field.
