Oregon Ducks standout quarterback Dante Moore has landed a new prediction for his NFL future.
Following the conclusion of the 2025 college football season, the Oregon Ducks were widely expected to lose standout quarterback Dante Moore. He was widely projected to be a top five pick, with many projecting him to land with the New York Jets at pick No. 2.
Despite the high expectations, Moore decided to forego the NFL Draft.
Instead, Moore wanted to return to Eugene to complete unfinished business. Due to his return, Oregon is widely viewed as a national championship favorite entering the 2026 campaign.
With that being said, the 2026 season is almost certainly Moore's last season with the Ducks. No matter what happens, he is expected to be a top-five pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Moore has landed a new prediction for his NFL future.
Sports Illustrated's Gilbert Manzano has released a new 2027 NFL mock draft. In that mock draft, he has Moore ending up with the Miami Dolphins at No. 2 overall.
"The 6'3", 206-pound Moore likely would have been selected second—behind Fernando Mendoza—had he declared for the 2026 draft. He passed up plenty of guaranteed money, but it was evident he needed more seasoning after a few hiccups in his first collegiate season as the full-time starter," Manzano wrote.
"This would be an intriguing scenario considering the Dolphins signed quarterback Malik Willis to a three-year, $67.5 million deal in March."
Last season with Oregon, Moore put together strong numbers. However, there were clearly still some areas that he needed to improve, which likely fed into the decision to return for one more year in college.
When all was said and done, Moore completed 71.8 percent of his pass attempts for 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also chipped in with 156 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground.
Entering the 2026 season, Moore will be facing more expectations and pressure. He is expected to be a top-tier Heisman Trophy candidate. If he can live up to that hype, being a top-two pick would nearly be a guarantee.
Along with that individual success, the Ducks would almost certainly be a threat come College Football Playoff time with Moore playing at a Heisman level.
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Moore. But, this new prediction would see him land with a Dolphins team who currently has Malik Willis as their starting quarterback. He would be given a chance to instantly compete for playing time and to be the long-term star quarterback Miami has badly needed.
