Oregon's top-10 highest paid alumni in the NFL have gotten paid a very large amount of cash across the board.
The last twenty years of Oregon Football have unquestionably been the Golden Age for the Ducks. Ever since the years of Marcus Mariota, the Ducks have been a consistent winner and, more importantly, have consistently placed guys in the NFL.
The Ducks NFL Alumni roster isn't the biggest, but the guys at the top of the list have absolutely gotten paid.
Oregon's Barstool account listed the Top-10 ranked Ducks in terms of salary in the NFL right now, and the list is 10 very solid football players.
With no surprise, quarterback Justin Herbert checks in at the top spot as he is making a clean $46 million per year. He is in a very critical season for the future of his career, one that he has to show up for or else real conversations about his future will begin.
The number two spot is held down by likely the best tackle in football without question. Penei Sewell was drafted by the Detroit Lions and immediately became one of the best tackles in football. He is physical, athletic, and a key piece of the Lions' offense. He is making $28 million per year.
In third place is the ageless wonder, DeForest Buckner. Buckner is the type of player that it feels like we have been hearing for forever, and while he winds down in his career, he is still getting paid a smooth $26 million per year.
The next three players are all making between $14.5 and $18 million, and they are Jevon Holland, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Arik Armstead. All defenders, all critical parts of each of their defenses, at least for now.
Then, to round out the top-10 are four guys that are making less than $10 million next year.
Defensive back Deommodore Lenoir, tight end Juwan Johnson, Mariota, and guard TJ Bass finish out the top-10 paid Ducks in the NFL.
Oregon's NFL active lineage isn't the longest, but it is definitely filled with very good players. There are a couple of stars in the league, but the vast majority are solid players, the guys that fill out rosters and still make plays when their number is called.
It's a list like this that then begs the question of who is next for the Ducks. Which player or players on the current Ducks roster are going to have their names on this list? Time will tell, but the Ducks' pedigree is continuing to improve, and very soon they will have multiple stars in the NFL.
