The University of Oregon is in full offseason mode. Analyzing last year's stellar season and seeing how they can improve even further to make another run at a National Championship.
For a top-tier football school like Oregon, recruiting and keeping an eye on the transfer portal are of the utmost importance. Last offseason, the Ducks put together one of the most elite offseasons in the country, with their class being consistently ranked in the top five nationally.
This Spring and Summer, the Ducks will look to repeat their success as they'll be loading up again for not only this season, but the seasons beyond Dante Moore and company.
In the past few recruiting classes, the Ducks have been excellent at landing top-tier talent in the secondary. Players like safety Jett Washington and cornerback Na'eem Offord have been some of the most elite in recent memory to become Ducks.
This Summer, Oregon will be looking to add yet another fantastic player in the secondary as they attempt to flip one of the best cornerbacks in the country. The insiders at Rivals believe that, as of now, the Ducks will do just that.
© Joshua L. Jones / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn ImagesDonte Wright is a 4-star cornerback out of Long Beach Poly in Southern California. He's ranked as the 5th best CB nationally and the 34th best player overall in his class. As of June 2025, he has been committed to Georgia.
Recently, however, Rivals insiders Greg Biggins, Adam Gorely, and Steve Wiltfong have predicted that over the course of this summer, the Ducks will be able to flip his commitment.
Wright announced that he'll be visiting both UCLA and Oregon this summer, which is leading some to believe he may be looking to remain much closer to home than Athens.
Wright is a two-sport athlete who participates in both football and track, and he uses his frame and speed to his advantage on the field. At 6'1 ", 170 lbs, Wright has the frame to be an elite corner on the outside of the field.
If the Ducks are able to secure a commitment from Wright, he would be the next in line of fantastic signings out of Eugene.
