Oregon Ducks star Teitum Tuioti reacted to the shocking loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
The Oregon Ducks entered Week 2 as the sixth-ranked team in the country but will drop in the rankings after falling to the unranked Oklahoma State Cowboys, 39-31.
"One game isn’t going to define us," Ducks' pass rusher Teitum Tuioti said. "Everyone in the locker room, we gotta stay together right now. It’s gonna be hostile out there... Obviously, the first two games weren’t up to our standard. Now there’s a problem, and we’ve gotta fix that problem."
Oregon almost lost in Week 1 against the Boise State Broncos, but escaped with a 34-27 victory. Tuioti was impactful in that win, with six tackles and a sack, but he and the Ducks' defense did not record a sack in the loss to the Cowboys.
Oregon entered the season as one of the best teams in the country and with one of the best pass rushes. Tuioti is one of their best pass rushers as he had a great 2025 season, finishing with 68 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, five pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.
USA TODAY Network via Reuters ConnectThey will need him to return to that level and be disruptive for the defense. The Ducks will also Uiagalelei to step up, as he was elite in the previous seasons.
In 2024, Uiagalelei recorded 38 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, two pass deflections, an interception, and two forced fumbles.
He had another solid year in 2025, finishing with 34 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, four pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
Oregon also has A'Mauri Washington, who is a great presence on the interior defensive line, as he had 33 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and eight pass deflections in 2025.
With these talented pieces, the Ducks will need more production to return to being one of the top programs in the country.
Dan Lanning and Oregon have a talented roster, with pieces like Tuioti, but they have plenty of work to do to get back on track and reestablish themselves as a College Football Playoff contender.
