Oregon received good news for the 2026 season when quarterback Dante Moore decided to return for one more year of school.
Moore was expected to be the No. 2 quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft behind Indiana's Fernando Mendoza.
After a 56-22 loss to IU in the College Football Playoff semifinal, he decided to return to help the Ducks compete for a national title in 2026 and work on polishing up a few skills before jumping into the league.
Moore will be without one of his top targets next season. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq recently announced he was entering the draft. He's expected to be in the range of becoming a top-10 pick.
ESPN's Mel Kiper doesn't think Sadiq will go that high in April. However, he thinks the tight end would make sense with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 15.
"The Buccaneers landed Emeka Egbuka in Round 1 last April, but don't be surprised if they go back to the pass-catching well in 2026," Kiper wrote. "After a hot start to the season, Baker Mayfield slowed down in the second half, and his offense could lose wide receiver Mike Evans and tight end Cade Otton.
"They are both free agents, and Evans is 32. Egbuka, Chris Godwin Jr., Jalen McMillan and Tez Johnson should be able to carry the WR room, but the tight end group would take a big hit."
Sadiq was the second-leading receiver on Oregon in 2025. He recorded 80 receptions for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns during his time in Eugene.
Kiper thinks Sadiq's physicality would be ideal for Tampa Bay.
"What Tampa Bay needs is exactly what Sadiq would provide," Kiper wrote. "He's a big, 6-foot-3 target with explosive traits, making him a matchup nightmare for opponents.
"Mayfield could get him the ball in space to let him use his after-the-catch ability to move the sticks or fire jump balls to him in the back of the end zone. I really like this match."
Sadiq is the only Oregon player Kiper has going in the first round of the 2026 draft. Next year, the Ducks could have a few more go the first day, including Moore.
