Oregon WR Dakorien Moore Tells Ducks Fans What to Expect to Finish the Year

Oregon wide receiver Dakorien Moore tells Ducks fans what to expect as this season comes to a close.

Contrary to popular belief, the Oregon Ducks are not closing up shop for the year. As they are through 7 games with a very disappointing 4-3 record, they still have five games left on the schedule to prove exactly what they are.

The Ducks will be without their starting quarterback for the rest of the year, and there is reason to believe that he has played his final snap as an Oregon Duck, which is what it is.

There are still plenty of players on this team who have something to prove to themselves and to the NFL scouts who are watching them. One of those guys is wide receiver Dakorien Moore.

Moore was one of the most hyped wide receivers coming into the season, and it just hasn't clicked for him at all this year. He has just 37 catches for 417 yards and four touchdowns this year.

Pedestrian numbers for any stretch of the imagination and a true disappointment for DK to this point, but none of that matters now. Now, all that matters is what is to come for he and the Ducks.

Moore was being interviewed by OnSI's Bri Amaranthus on Thursday, and she asked him what his message was to Ducks fans to end the year. Moore responded with genuine excitement, telling fans to expect more big plays, expect them to win football games, and expect fans to be able to "turn up" with them on the sideline.

That's some high expectations for a team, and an offense has lacked all three of those things to this point. However, they are now truly playing with absolutely nothing to lose. The season is down the drain, and they have a chance to play spoiler for two Big Ten opponents who have Playoff aspirations.

The Northwestern Wildcats have been this year's darling team, and the Ducks get their crack at them this weekend on Halloween. Then, just one week later, it is a cross-country trip to Columbus, Ohio, to take on the likely No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes.

The ultimate goal of the season is certainly lost, but now the Ducks get the opportunity to play a role that they likely never thought they would have to: spoiler.

Northwestern and Ohio State will require Oregon's best effort, and it is likely that they will get it.

All of this is easier said than done. The Ducks have a couple of major challenges in front of them, with no reward on the other side. Dakorien Moore said they aren't giving up, not yet, at least.
