Penn State released their four game-day captains for Week 4 against Wisconsin, and they need to have a big day against the Badgers.
The Penn State Nittany Lions are at the doorstep of a really big game on Saturday against the Wisconsin Badgers. It is as close to a must-win as you could possibly have for many reasons, but just to get that first win under Matt Campbell's belt.
The two teams are very similar in terms of their situations and in terms of their talent levels. Both need a win, and both are going to do everything they can to get it done.
On Saturday morning the released the four Gameday Captains and their four players, who are the leaders of the team, were released, but they also need to have a big game for the Nittany Lions to get the job done.
First and foremost is quarterback Rocco Becht. This one is obviously a no-brainer for the Nittany Lions in their biggest game to date with Becht as their quarterback. He has been really sharp up to this point in the season, but will need another big game on Saturday against Wisconsin.
Captain No. 2 is the big man upfront. Tackle Anthony Donkoh has been a brick wall for the Nittany Lions for the last three seasons. He has been a mainstay and has grown into a leader of the team. He has a huge job on Saturday against the best front that the Nittany Lions have faced to this point in the season.
The third captain is the first one on the defensive side of the football. Linebacker Kooper Ebel is one of the leaders on the defensive side of the football. This is his biggest game as a new member of the Nittany Lions reigning from Iowa State. Last week against Buffalo was his best game so far, as he registered five tackles and one sack. He needs more of that today against the Badgers.
The fourth and final captain is cornerback Audavion Collins. Collins transferred to Penn State from Mississippi State after his freshman year three years ago. He has become a leader on the defensive side of the ball and has been matching it with solid play, at least to this point.
Together, these four are a very strong group of leaders who all need to have an awesome game against the Badgers on Saturday.Â
Saturday is as close to a must-win as you get early in the season. To get it done, the Nittany Lions need a really good day from one of their four leaders.
