Penn State has several former stars in the NFL.
One earned a major payday.
Last year, it was Micah Parsons' turn to cash in. The defensive end was traded to the Green Bay Packers and signed to a four-year, $188 million deal.
In 2025, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley signed a two-year contract extension worth $41.2 million.
This offseason, Odafe Oweh is getting a ginormous payday.
Per NFL media, the Washington Commanders agreed to a four-year deal with Oweh worth $100 million.
"The edge rusher is signing a four-year, $100 million deal with the Washington Commanders, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported on Monday," wrote Nick Shook.
"The contract includes $68 million in guaranteed money, per Rapoport and Garafolo. Oweh's average annual salary lands him between the likes of Montez Sweat and Nik Bonitto among edge rushers."
The Baltimore Ravens selected Oweh in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The Ravens sent Oweh and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 7 in exchange for Alohi Gilman and a 2026 fifth-round pick.
Oweh has played in 79 games and started 27. He's recorded 176 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles and 30.5 sacks in his five-year NFL career.
Oweh's best season came in 2024, when he recorded 10 sacks.
He struggled in Baltimore's defense last year but put up huge production for the Chargers. He earned 28 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks in his 12 games for the Chargers.
Following the trade to Los Angeles, Oweh called the Chargers a "perfect fit."
"It's a new, fresh start and I have a new opportunity to get more sacks. I'm just looking forward," Oweh said, via the Chargers.
"I don't attribute it to me not having the moves or me not winning. I was winning, just the ball was getting out or different situations in Baltimore."
Oweh, 27, should be in good shape with the Commanders under head coach Dan Quinn.
The defensive line has solid players with Daron Payne and Dorance Armstrong.
It'll be interesting to see if the former Penn State standout will make the Pro Bowl in Washington.
