It's not often we see players transfer from Ohio State to Penn State, but it's becoming more common due to the current transfer portal. Players have to understand that just because things didn't work out at one Big Ten school, it doesn't mean it won't work out at another.

That was the case for former Ohio State running back James Peoples, who transferred to Penn State during the offseason.

Peoples was once viewed as a legitimate potential star, something Ohio State was hoping it could get out of its running back.

Instead, the Buckeyes went with some other options, and it was tough to blame them. Ohio State didn't make any wrong decisions in the scenario, but it was just the fact of the matter of what really happened.

Regardless, Peoples understands that he's in a different stage of his career now and is really looking forward to it. When speaking about why he decided to come to Penn State, he didn't have anything bad to say about Ohio State, but he also understood that the opportunities at Penn State might be a bit better for him right now than they would have been with the Buckeyes.

“Things that were really on my bucket list, was a place where I can continue to grow, where I have a coach and team that’s willing to take me in and let me be an impactful player, and fight for a national championship,” the 5-10, 210-pound Peoples said last week when asked about his decision to become a Nittany Lion,” he said, per Penn Live

“This place (Penn State) has all of that.”

It's always great to get players from Ohio State for a few reasons.

Not only are they typically very talented players, but they're also used to working hard. I know Penn State and Ohio State fans like to throw shots at each other, but both should have some respect for the work they put in.

From the sound of things, Peoples is one of those guys who is bringing a lot of juice to these Penn State practices, and Ohio State does deserve some credit for that in a way.

“All these young men want to get coached hard, but it’s how you coach them.

“I’ve seen (Peoples) start to get more comfortable being around his teammates and just, what he does off the field, you’re starting to see it come on the field. I’m very encouraged with where he started to where he’s at right now,” running backs coach Savon Huggins said.
