New coach Matt Campbell sets the date for the critical Blue-White Weekend, crucial for a revamped roster and future success.

Penn State Football Reveals Date For Spring Blue-White Weekend

New head coach Matt Campbell got a late start to Penn State's offseason.

Campbell wasn't hired by PSU until Dec. 5, putting the former Iowa State head coach behind in the recruiting game.

The Nittany Lions had to watch as their high school recruits went to other programs, including to Virginia Tech under former PSU head coach James Franklin.

Campbell salvaged Penn State's roster for 2026 via the transfer portal. He brought over two dozen athletes from ISU. Those players will be critical to the success of the program next season.

With spring football set to begin, Penn State still has house-cleaning duties to take care of. Campbell is seeking a wide receivers coach.

With Campbell getting the groundwork set up at PSU, it was unclear if or when the program would hold its annual Blue-White spring football weekend.

Per PSU, the Blue-White Weekend will take place on April 25, with more information to be given at a later date.

Earlier in February, Campbell suggested Penn State would have a Blue-White Game, though he wasn't sure exactly what it would look like.

“[Athletic Director] Pat [Kraft] and I are deciding how we’ll do the Blue-White Game and what that will look like,” Campbell said, via State College. “We will certainly do something, and that information will get out here, hopefully early next week, in terms of what that will look like.”

“What that’ll look like probably will base a lot on our health of where we’re at at that point, and then you know making sure we do a great job of getting out there and getting great work."

Penn State is allowed to hold 15 practices during spring ball. Those are important workouts for athletes before training camp in the summer.

Given that much of PSU's roster hasn't played for the program or at Beaver Stadium before, spring football and the Blue-White Game will be even more critical for Campbell's roster.

Penn State has the talent to be a top-25 team in 2026. The schedule is favorable.

PSU's chances to make the College Football Playoff could be decided on how the first 15 practices in the spring go for Campbell.
