The Penn State Nittany Lions have become massive favorites for Saturday afternoon's game against Purdue.
The Penn State Nittany Lions have lost four straight, are riddled with injuries, have a bad offense, and even with all of that, they somehow are double-digit favorites against the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday.
Nothing about Penn State's season has gone according to plan up to this point in the year. It's been a year filled with disappointment for the past five weeks, after what was a disastrous season last year.
With five games remaining on their schedule, the Nittany Lions have a chance to flip the script on the year and turn everything around.
It gets started today with their matchup against the Purdue Boilermakers in a game that, for some reason, they have grown to be -10.5 favorites in.
Not only are they massive favorites, but almost all of the public money is on them. As of the morning of game day, 88 percent of the public has bet on the Nittany Lions' side, and they have -430 odds on the moneyline.
Reminder, they were 10 point favorite against Wisconsin at home in the same exact spot.

For Penn State, they have absolutely no concern about covering this number; their one and only concern is winning the football game, nothing more and nothing less. By no means is anything about Saturday going to be easy.
While the Boilermakers come into this game as massive underdogs and with a below .500 record, they, in my opinion, are on a very upward trend. A two-point loss to Wake Forrest, a 2 touchdown loss to UCLA, a two-score loss to Washington after turning the football over 5 times are on their resume.
Their electric offense averages 31 points per game and goes for over 400 yards per contest. They will be a tough challenge for the Penn State defense, one the Nittany Lions will have to hold down.
If this game gets into the 20s, Penn State is in major trouble because they are not going to be able to score against the Boilermakers. Yes, that is reality. The Nittany Lions don't have the offensive firepower to hang with the Purdue Boilermakers.
Saturday is a massive day for the Penn State program. Things are weird surrounding the program and the staff right now, and they will only get worse if things continue to go sideways. A win today will settle a lot of things down. A loss, a loss turns the heat all the way up.
They will start as 10.5 point favorites but nothing about anything we have seen makes me feel good about that line.
