Former Penn State superstar Micah Parsons spoke out with a surprising pick for the NFL's best quarterback.
As the Penn State Nittany Lions prepare for their season opener on Saturday against the Marshall Thundering Herd, fans have also been keeping track of former stars in the NFL.
Of course, the main name that pops out to many regarding Penn State is Green Bay Packers superstar Micah Parsons.
Parsons was the talk of the NFL last offseason. After being traded by the Dallas Cowboys to the Packers in a blockbuster trade, his name was the hottest in the league. Unfortunately, amid a successful first season in Green Bay, Parsons went down with a torn ACL.
Due to the ACL tear, Parsons will not be on the field to begin the 2026 NFL season. He will miss at least the first four game of the year, although there is widespread belief that Week 6 would be the earliest possible return date for him.
While he hasn't been on the field, Parsons has been very vocal. He has made a lot of media appearances and has made a lot of predictions. Recently, he also spoke out with his thoughts about who the best quarterback in the NFL is right now.
Who did Parsons pick? He think that when Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow is healthy, there is no one better.
“When he’s on, I don’t think there’s a better QB in the league than Joe Burrow," Parsons said.
Burrow is an extremely talented quarterback who has been hit with multiple setbacks due to injury. When he is healthy, there is no question that he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
Last season with the Bengals, Burrow only played in eight games. He threw for 1,809 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions, while completing 66.8 percent of his passes.
Throughout his entire career to this point, the 29-year-old signal caller has thrown for 20,810 yards, 157 touchdowns, and 51 interceptions, while completing 68.5 percent of his pass attempts.
On the other hand, Parsons has become one of the NFL's top defensive players. He has played in 77 total games, racking up 297 tackles, 65 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and 10 defended passes.
Hopefully, Parsons is able to get back on the field early on in 2026. Penn State fans may not get to watch him in a Nittany Lions uniform anymore, but they still root him on hard at the NFL level.
