Penn State QB Drew Allar Reveals Favorite NFL Team Before Draft cover image

Ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, Penn State quarterback Drew Allar revealed who his favorite professional team is.

Leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft, there will be few more interesting names to keep an eye on that Penn State Nittany Lions quarterback Drew Allar.

Ahead of the 2025 college football season, Allar was viewed as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. Unfortunately, the season was an absolute nightmare for Penn State. It also saw Allar go down for the year with an injury.

His value was impacted greatly due to the injury and poor all-around year. However, he's still gaining some hype as a potential sleeper option for teams who need help under center.

Keeping that in mind, the NFL Combine is currently ongoing in Indianapolis. Allar spoke out at the Combine and revealed who his favorite professional team growing up was.

As shared by ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi, Allar was a Cleveland Browns fan growing up. He shared that his first two jerseys as a kid were of Joe Thomas and Charlie Frye.

Speaking of the Browns, there is also a potential need for quarterback help.

Last offseason in the 2025 NFL Draft, Cleveland took two quarterbacks. The Browns drafted Dillon Gabriel in the third round and backed up that pick by selecting Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round.

During their respective rookie seasons, Sanders was clearly the better signal caller. Gabriel could be on his way out of Cleveland this offseason, which could open up the door for the Browns to take a sleeper option like Allar.

Throughout his shortened 2025 season, Allar completed 64.8 percent of his pass attempts for 1,100 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also chipped in with 172 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

In his four-year college career, which all came for the Nittany Lions, Allar totaled 7,402 passing yards, 61 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, while completing 63.2 percent of his passes. He also ended up with 736 rushing yards and another 12 touchdowns.

There is a very real chance that Allar could end up playing for his favorite childhood team. If he's available in the third round, Cleveland could come calling.

Regardless of where he ends up, the Penn State quarterback simply needs a chance. His potential and talent are through the roof.
