Penn State QB Drew Allar shone at Penn State's Pro-Day and really locked in his draft stock.

Penn State Nittany Lions quarterback Drew Allar was, unfortunately, the biggest loser of the 2025 college football season.

Had he declared for the NFL Draft after his incredible 2024 season, he would have been a first-round pick, but instead, he came back to chase a National Championship and improve his draft stock.

The result was anything but that.

After an uncomfortable 3-0 start to the season against three "buy games," they absolutely crumbled during the season. They lost six straight games, and in that stretch, James Franklin lost his job, and Allar broke his ankle.

Now, Allar, instead of being a top draft selection in this year's draft, is looking at being a mid-round selection.

On Wednesday, Allar and the rest of the Nittany Lions participated in the Penn State Pro Day. Allar's goal on the day was to showcase his superpower: his arm strength.

He spent the entire session making all NFL-type throws to all levels of the field. He showcased his ability to throw off play action and really proved exactly what everyone knows about him: that he is built to be an NFL quarterback.

His arm is so live, he stands at 6'5 and weighs in at 235 pounds. At that size, he is very athletic and is the prototypical build for today's NFL quarterback.

The only concern is that he has never really put it together on the field. Every bit of tape that he has is inconsistent at best. He struggles to process defenses, and his mechanics are all out of sorts, which shows up when he is pushing the football down the field.

Allar's fall in draft stock may just be a blessing in disguise for the former Nittany Lion. Because he is not going to be a first-round pick, he is not going to be expected to step right in and turn a program around.

He is likely going to be able to "redshirt" and really develop his game. He will be able to learn how to process better, he will be able to fix his mechanics, and then, when he gets his chance, he will be set up for success.

Allar's projections as they stand right now are midday two. He may fall into the third round, and if things get really crazy, he could fall into the fourth round. If he does, whoever selects him will be getting incredible value.

Regardless of whoever drafts him, they will be getting an incredible ball of clay. He is the NFL prototype that is just rough around the edges. Give him some time, and he could become a franchise quarterback.
