Dane Brugler has made himself into one of the authorities when it comes to the NFL Draft, and his analysis of Drew Allar was right down the middle.

Dane Brugler has become one of the authorities on the NFL Draft. His document, The Beast, details every draft-eligible player and talks about their strengths and weaknesses, and what their projection is in the draft.

Unlike most, Brugler is right down the middle in his evaluation of Penn State quarterback Drew Allar.

Allar has become a polarizing figure in the NFL and in pre-draft discussions. People either love him or they think he is going to be a total bust, and there is a lot of room in the middle that no one is occupying.

Brugler is there, right in the middle.

His evaluation of Allar is frankly very simple. He states that Allar is a top quarterback in the history of Penn State football, he has NFL-like traits in terms of size and athleticism, but he leaves a lot to be desired in terms of processing and mechanics.

As is the case with many draft projections, Allar is going to become a product of his environment. If he gets drafted to the correct spot, he could completely revive his football career. The ideal place for him is to be drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the third or fourth round to sit behind Matt Stafford and learn from Sean McVay.

While that is a dream scenario, there is a world where he is selected by a team like the Cleveland Browns or the New York Jets, who want to take another stab at their long-term solution at the position. If either of those happens, it spells disaster for Allar.

Drew is such a fascinating prospect at the quarterback position. He stands at 6'5" and weighs in over 240 pounds. Even at that size, he still has the athleticism that he needs to be successful at the NFL level, and if he were to fix his throwing mechanics, he has the tools to be great.

Brugler's prediction for Allar is that he ranks as quarterback No. 4 and projects him to be a Round 3 or Round 4 grade. In that pocket, some of his ideal landing spots would be the Los Angeles Rams at pick No. 93, the Minnesota Vikings at pick No. 97, or pick No. 99 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Whoever gets Allar is getting a player with a ton of potential. Depending on where he is drafted, he is a low-risk, high-reward prospect, and someone will have to take a chance on him.
