While the Penn State Nittany Lions prepare for a new era of football under head coach Matt Campbell, there are a few players gearing up for the 2026 NFL Draft.
One of those players is none other than quarterback Drew Allar.
After ending his Penn State career in disappointing fashion with an injury, Allar is focused on being drafted and proving that he can be a franchise quarterback in the NFL. Had the injury not occurred, there is a chance that he would be receiving first round hype leading up to the draft.
As things currently stand, Allar isn't expected to be a first round pick. He also isn't receiving many projections to be taken in the second round.
Should projections hold true, Allar would likely be a third-round pick in the NFL Draft.
Keeping that in mind, the young signal caller has received a new prediction about where he could land. That prediction came from Pro Football Focus analyst Gordon McGuinness.
In his recent mock draft, McGuinness had the Indianapolis Colts selecting Allar in the third round with the No. 78 overall pick.
There are many other destinations that would be far worse fits for Allar. While the Colts are expected to re-sign Daniel Jones in free agency, Allar would be able to learn from the sideline and develop. He could take over from Jones as the starting quarterback in the future.
During his four-year career with the Nittany Lions, Allar ended up completing 63.2 percent of his pass attempts for 7,402 yards, 61 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He also picked up 736 yards and scored 12 touchdowns on the ground.
At times, Allar was viewed as one of the best quarterbacks in college football. The hype around him cooled off during the 2025 season, but his talent was clear during his time at Penn State.
Hopefully, the young quarterback lands with a team that fits what he needs. Indianapolis would be one of those teams.
Expect to hear more about Allar as the NFL Draft draws closer. For now, he'll keep working hard to prove everyone who has doubted him wrong.
