Penn State running back Kaytron Allen was very good in Happy Valley, but it didn't seem like he always got the respect he deserved. Whether that was due to Nick Singleton or Penn State struggling last season, he made it clear that he doesn’t feel his body of work received the attention it deserved.

Speaking at Penn State’s Pro Day, Allen spoke about his time in Happy Valley and the consistency he showed throughout his career. Despite sharing a backfield and not always being the focus of the offense, Allen did a lot of good.

“I don't think people really respect what I've done here,” Allen told reporters at the Nittany Lions' Pro Day on Wednesday, per 247 Sports. “I always made progress since I've been here — progress after progress. I don't think people really talk too much about that either, but it is what it is. It's on the record board.

“I've been dreaming about it so long. It's in arm's reach, and whatever happens I've just gotta take advantage of it. All I need is an opportunity and to take advantage of everything. There was nothing I could do about it but play ball and control what I control. When I get the ball, you're gonna know who I am and what I stand for.”

During his time at Penn State, Allen delivered, stayed healthy, and had the ability to contribute in multiple ways to the offense. Even without always being the guy, his impact was felt week in and week out. Some even believe he was the better player than Singleton, despite the fact that Singleton seems to be getting more respect than him right now.

That lack of respect may ultimately work in his favor, though. Players who enter the league with a chip on their shoulder are always ones to watch out for, and teams should recognize that.

"I've talked to a lot of different teams," Allen said. "It don't really matter. Just give me an opportunity. That's all I need."

RB’s don’t always get a lot of love in the draft, but Allen should find a home with a good team.
