Nicholas Singleton isn’t letting a setback define his path to the NFL after suffering a broken bone in his foot during the Senior Bowl.

After dealing with an injury during the pre-draft process, Singleton provided an update that should ease NFL teams’ concerns about his availability and how he feels heading into the draft.

“I feel like I’m good, I’m starting to walk a little bit more,” Singleton said, per MSN. “I’ve been walking the past two weeks. … I’m thinking I’ll run a little bit in a couple weeks.”

For prospects in Singleton’s position, the pre-draft process is all about being healthy and showing athleticism. Missing time can create some questions, even if he was dominant in college. One of the greatest in Penn State history at the running back position, Singleton should be in a fine position during the draft, even with this injury.

More importantly, he said he’s still getting better daily and believes he’s the same player he was prior to this injury.

“I’m still here, you know, I’m getting better by the day,” Singleton said. “I’m still that same player, run the ball, catch the ball in the backfield, be able to go block, just showing that I’m a complete back.”

“I’ve been telling teams, kick return and running back, so to have that on my resume is really good,” Singleton said.

NFL.com agrees with how many view Singleton, writing that he could potentially be the RB3.

“Well-built back with explosive speed whose 2025 season was flat after a strong 2024. Singleton is a linear runner who plays like his brake lines have been cut, affecting his ability to gather and elude tacklers or cut on demand.

“He has the speed to make defenses pay but displayed a lack of vision and instincts to put himself in position to do so, relative to his teammate Kaytron Allen. His size and speed will get attention, but his ability to return kicks and play on third downs could ultimately earn him a roster spot as a RB3,” the outlet wrote.

Singleton went from a potential RB1 to an RB3, but he should be just fine in the NFL.
