Unfortunately, Penn State quarterback Drew Allar was viewed as a guy who needed to be developed when coming out of college.

Now that he has a chance to play in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, some have questioned if that's the direction Pittsburgh is going to take. It still remains uncertain what the organization wants to do on that front.

However, most people believe that at this point, the Steelers aren't going to give him an opportunity to start right away, and they're already trying to fix some of the bad habits that he had during his time at Penn State.

"I don't think we're going to see Drew Allar this year... It's going to take some time, I think," Mark Kaboly told Adam Crowley of 93.7 The Fan.

"They're clearly tearing him down, building him up with whole new habits. You can't throw a quarterback like that to the wolves. You just can't. If you really think he can become something, not playing him doesn't spit in the face of that—playing him might, because you want to give him the best possible chance to succeed. Throwing him out there Week 1, Week 2, whatever, middle of the season, I don't think you give him the best chance to succeed."

I understand what Kaboly is saying here, and I don't necessarily disagree with him. I've admitted a lot of times that I think Allar can be a really good player in the NFL one day, but it's definitely going to take some time.

The harsh reality is that he has all the tools to be a great player, but wasn't necessarily one during his time in Happy Valley at certain points. He would definitely be in a good spot if Aaron Rodgers returns to Pittsburgh and teaches Allar everything he knows, even if that means he has no chance to start next season.
