Enough is enough sometimes.
University of Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi always takes a shot at Penn State, no matter the time of day, situation, or anything else.
If the Pittsburgh head coach can come out and say something negative about the Nittany Lions, he'll do it.
Even with his team being 5-0 and coming off a decent win against Virginia Tech, one of the first things coming out of his mouth was that Penn State was overranked in the AP poll entering the season. Narduzzi spoke to reporters after his win against Virginia Tech earlier in the week, throwing a direct shot at Penn State for absolutely no reason.
“I think it’s all the brands,” he said. “Everybody wants to look at the logo and gets all infatuated with logos and all that stuff. You look at the school down the road — gets in the top 25 and what did they really do to get in the top 25?”
It's strange that Narduzzi keeps doing this. The funnier part is that, when we look at what Pittsburgh has done this season, it's not exactly a world-beater of a team. Pittsburgh barely beat a below-average UCF team, got beat up by a terrible Syracuse team, and barely beat Virginia Tech.
Outside of that Virginia Tech game, there really wasn't one impressive win. The good part for Narduzzi, however, is that he can make these comments because he doesn't really play any other tough game outside of taking on Miami at the end of October, a game that nobody expects Miami to win anyway.
After the win against Virginia Tech, his first thought was to come out and make comments about not being ranked in the AP poll prior to this week.
According to On3, he even told the ACC commissioner that he was going to do it.
“I saw (ACC commissioner) Jim Phillips before the game, and I said, ‘I’m gonna say something after the game, after we win this game,'” Narduzzi said, per On3. “You can ask him. I flat-out said, ‘After we win.’ I was that confident that we were gonna go in there and win, regardless of who’s on that field. I said, ‘I’ll definitely say something.’
